Lore

Long ago the gods fell from the skies,
shattering into fragments as they crashed onto the world known as Delnoa.

Over decades of gathering and study,
the inhabitants learned to wield the power of these fragments they called Zems.

Thus began the War of Delnoa,
a global conquest among factions to harness the divine power of the gods.

Delnoa is home to numerous fantasy creatures coexisting in constant conflict.

The humans are the most organized race on Delnoa but are splintered into several factions that engage in small skirmishes over contested territory. The strongest among them is the Irulian Empire, a symbol of human discipline and might inspired by the Ancient Roman Empire. The Irulian Empire manifests its home on the east coast of the mainlands, a large stretch of mountainous land known as Sentinel Bay.

To the West of Sentinel Bay, but still far from the central mainland, lies the scattered city-states of the remaining human factions. These city-states often engage with the Empire to the East while often warring with the Ortor, an organized race of physically strong wolflike predators to the West and central mainland.

The Ortor are scattered into three main factions, or Prides: Vorten, Airok, and Sonan. Each Pride occupies a different area of the central mainland and carries its own ideologies, traditions, and beliefs. Only the Airok Pride is known to work with the humans to the East – the Vorten and Sonan Prides view humanity as a virulent plague aiming to colonize the vast central plains the Ortor call home and often band together to fight off their common enemy.

To the north of the central mainland is a large slit spanning half the continent: The Remoran Sea. This vast body of water is home to the Merunes, merfolk renowned for luring members of the other races to their deaths with captivating songs and bewitching magic. Due to the vast quantities of zems located within the Remoran Sea, the Merunes are masters of wielding powerful magic.

The Merunes are ruled by a clergy who believe in the resurrection of the gods who fell from the stars. Due to the prevalence of zems in the Remoran Sea and the flow of arcane energy running within it, the Merunes believe they are the chosen race to restore glory to the land and the stars.

Phegan

Spanning the skies of the continent is a predator known to all races: Phegan. These giant bird-dragons migrate from season to season, act independently, and fear nothing. They often lay temporary claim to areas of land occupied by the other races who vehemently attempt to drive them away.

While the Phegans appear to be primal beasts at first, many of them display a considerable amount of intelligence in the way they hunt prey. The high altitude diving attack of the Phegan is considered by many races to be an awe-inducing spectacle – unless the Phegan is coming after you, of course.

Of course, some think the Phegans are just giant chickens created by the gods to keep the other races humble. Nobody really knows how or why they grew to be so big.
